The story revolves around friendship, hope, and personal growth, with a quirky cast of characters whose personalities shine as the plot unfolds. Their interactions feel natural and full of charm, making you care about each one. The game really stands out with its combat system. It takes classic turn-based mechanics and spices them up with timed attacks and a special power bar, so you have to stay sharp with every move.
This JRPG draws on ideas from genre classics, but with varied new gameplay twists.
You’ll explore forests, cities, rock concerts and more, with traversal that is always fun and dynamic; there are no random encounters, while you can dash and charge into objects (and people!) for unique results. How you interact with people will influence game events and combat. Exploring the maps can be a little frustrating, especially with enemies constantly respawning, and it’s worse when you’re far from a save point. But overall, the story is delightful, and the gameplay keeps things fun and engaging. Lorn’s Lure
After a devastating loss, Jae would do anything to fix the past. Blast off on that quest with your newfound friends on a journey to the gates of Yimmelia, a fabled land on the moon that’s rumored to grant any wish. Nailing the timing for max damage adds a nice layer of strategy, making battles feel dynamic and rewarding. Combat incorporates timed hits, with special combinations as you team up with amazing party members. Build the meter, attack and defend, while unleashing awesome combos for better rewards!
Traverse forests, explore cities, ruin a rock concert, and crash a fandom convention, all while throwing your JRPG expectations out the window.
Experience a modernized take on the genre: no random encounters, a sprint feature, headbutting, and no grinding! Recruit and travel with five new friends, customize your battle experience with six playable characters, and time your attacks to build your meter, ultimately unleashing powerful duo and trio attacks! The better you do in combat, the better the rewards you receive at the end: more XP, more items, more money! Freely interact with NPCs during conversations. Copycat
stand there and listen to them gab, throw items at them, or just walk away. But remember your actions have consequences—how you treat people in this world affects combat. Consult with your party members about your surroundings, how to beat enemies, or just to check in on your pals. Experience wacky and irreverent conversations and scenarios. You never know what’ll happen next!
Cricket: Jae’s Really Peculiar Game A funny and pretty chill jrpg with a nice story to it and fun combat.
In this game you will go on a journey with Jae and his loyal friends, trying to correct the mistakes of the past and restore balance in their small universe. The adventure promises to be interesting and fun. The thirtieth anniversary of Earthbound may turn out to be a good year for new games inspired by Nintendo’s still-underrated classic. Cricket: Jae’s Really Peculiar Game evokes the spirit of Onett. Full, all-new OST composed by Shane Mesa and Tomoya Tomita. Starstruck Hands of Time
The save points are far too infrequent. I lost about a half an hour of progress simply because I had to get on with my life and close the game before it would give me another save point. In an hour of gameplay, I only saw a single save point. Maybe this is okay on Switch where you can just sleep the system, but on PC, this is a pretty inconvenient. The game world itself seems fine. I like the artwork and the story was starting to interest me, but in the end the save issue and the control mapping issue.

HOW TO CHANGE THE LANGUAGE OF A ANY GAME
1. Check the in-game settings and see if you can change it there. If not, continue down below. You might have to try and use Google Translate to figure out the in-game menus.
– Steam Games –
2a. Look for an .ini file in the game folder or subfolders. Could be called something like steam_emu.ini, steamconfig.ini, etc., but check all the .ini files. There should be a line for language/nickname that you can edit in notepad. If not, look for a “language” or “account_name” text file that you can edit. (If not in the game folder, try C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ SteamEmu Saves\settings). Save and open the game again.
– GOG Games –
2b. Same steps as Steam games except instead of .ini files, look for .info files
If these steps don’t work, then the files for the language you are looking for might not be included. We only check for English here.
