Ever17 is widely considered Kotaro Uchikoshi’s magnum opus, and for good reason; many of the strong ideas, philosophies, twists, sciences, character beats, and messages that are present throughout his body of work can be traced by to Ever17, and are still present in this remake. To this day, it’s still one of my all-time favorites. Many have surpassed it—hell, Ever17 probably isn’t even my favorite mystery visual novel anymore—but it’s still easily one of the best.
