The deck building component seems solid and lots going on. Sometimes you get a run of cards combo going and can play most of your cards and crush the opponents. Many different options of things to buy with your in game gold Stores, Drinks, Locals and lots of different Hero cards with lots of different powers. Difficulty Setting : I really like this and I play on easy ; might even want an easier mode. Campaign : Lots to like here, build your own card, re-spec your card if your not liking it or gain some new powers, gaining and spending XP, buying different cards in the market

The campaign mode emerged as a beacon of redemption, offering a variety of missions with unique challenges and win conditions.

As I honed my skills and experimented with different heroes, the game transformed from a source of frustration to one of fascination. this is kind of like Dominion, where you recruit heroes that bring their own card “supplies” to your deck. Your heroes determine the decks you will get to pull from, while the enemies have their own. It’s not like Slay the Spire where you polish the same deck during your run and gradually grow more powerful. There is more random elements, but no penalty for failure (except time) so the game encourages you to find a way past the obstacles in your own way. While there were still moments of frustration, such as the occasional reliance on specific card draws and minor UI inconveniences, these became less pronounced as my understanding of the game grew. Despite its flaws, Mythical Mayhem proved to be a rewarding experience, offering a level of depth and engagement that I had initially overlooked. recruiting a massive pool of heroes to go on the next quest (limited to 5 per quest)

Since the matches are more self-contained the game is more willing to let you unleash an unstoppable combo and wreck your enemies completely.

That can be satisfying when you start to grasp the enemy strategies and start beating back against the darkness. Or, you know, joining it. Looting the town you are supposed to be saving is amazingly profitable. Who knew? The game is unique, fun, and inexpensive. It is also fully released (but still supported) so there aren’t missing features of any of the other early access issues. If you’re on the fence about buying, watch those videos I mentioned. They’ll give you a good picture of what the game is like (and good tips for playing). I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes deckbuilders and card games in general. I love the variety of scenario and, even within each scenario, the high variability of possible actions due to things like side quests. You even have multiple ways to win each scenario! The new campaign mode really bridges the gap between a card builder game and a D&D game with a variety of both card games that stay true to the scenario format and text based social engagements where you have the opportunity to stay true to your character and help to shape the world as the larger story unfolds!! 23 Arch Villain Decks 8 Arch Villain Ambition Card Variations 28 Foe Decks 19 Minion Decks 35 Scenarios 5.
