or if you are extremely careful and enjoy turning over every rock to discover the secrets a game has to offer Beautifully written story, in which you’re not supposed to understand whats happening until you get the pieces together. Strategy based upon chance, but making the best of what you can get. Just, listen to the sisters’ advice at the beginning… This game is very fun. Unlike most rouge likes this one requires a large amount of resource management. It is very fun to try and figure out what is going on with the story. The art and theme are amazing, the mechanics are fun and the music is cool.

Low but engaging complexity. Art style is distinct. Everything made me feel a bit uneasy. Sound work is great. Quite a few secrets to figure out, as long as you are paying attention. NO-SKIN is a short rougelite with a horror style. It took me roughly 8 hours to finish the game, with exception of the character memories, higher difficulties, and . I found all aspects of the game to be above expectations. Beyond the gameplay being great, the visuals and sound work were great despite how simple they appear to be. all of them felt justified by the end. There was only one particular part which I felt could be adjusted; . The character memories that I did complete were all interesting in their own respect. They are short challenges that usually have very different gameplay to the main game. I liked them even though some felt too simple. Finally, I think the overall story was a bit too abstract for me to understand. While I think part of that might be that I didn’t finish all of the character memories, I also think that a lot of details are left out intentionally.

Survive eldritch horrors, get stronger and deliver the No-Skin Man his skin before he runs out of patience and hunts you down how hard could that be, right?

Well, turns out things get a whole lot more… complicated. The basic gameplay loop is pretty straightforward- pick a playable character with some very weaksauce stats and a melee/ranged weapon of some sort, get dropped into a long gauntlet of rooms each with percentage odds of certain events or battles occurring, and try to survive as the No-Skin Man’s doomsday timer ticks up to 100 after every event. However, you’re always given a choice between which one of three rooms to explore next, and you get to see the possible outcomes of each room in advance. CRUEL

Strategically picking specific rooms and accumulating resources through battle and from merchants is a key part of keeping up with the increasingly difficult enemies you encounter. The additional playable characters you can unlock have unique mechanics that make them noticeably more complex than the one you start off with, and some of the most satisfying gameplay moments to me in my playthrough was finally figuring out exactly how one of these characters ticked and how I needed to plan my items/events to deal with their individual challenges and unique events.

High replayability: play with different characters, unlock new content between runs, and experience different outcomes from each playthrough Horror atmosphere: immerse yourself completely in the unsettling and surreal atmosphere of this game…. well- even if you manage to get to the end of a run, you’ll find out very quickly that reaching the No-Skin Man by no means ensures that you’ll actually have the skin you’re supposed to be giving him in the first place. Figuring out how to beat the game for real- and how to get that singular achievement means unraveling the dark, unhinged lore of the game and its characters over multiple playthroughs, unlockable memory sessions and various in-game dialogue trees and puzzles. I don’t want to spoil too much of what you’ll experience as you dig deeper into the mountain of hidden content
