To many retro gamers Double Dragon represents the epitome of the genre. Despite the popularity inherent with the title, when Return of Double Dragon was unleashed onto the SNES market in 1992 both the gaming press, and consequently the majority of gamers, did not welcome it with open arms. This was another addition in a saturated market and one which was deemed as too similar and lacking in the necessary rejuvenations, or innovation, to warrant another cleansing of the streets. The gameplay is in some ways better than the original, and some ways not.
The characters and backgrounds are well-detailed and animated. The game also makes use of some impressive special effects, such as parallax scrolling and scaling sprites in Super Double Dragon video game.
For one thing which is obvious, you can now play with two players at once, which makes the game alot easier. Another thing which some people argue about which is better is that you no longer learn new moves, instead you already know all of them and its just a matter of mastering how to do them. The combat has evolved quite a bit from the original. Now, you can still punch and kick, as well as do some of the moves you learned in the original. If you let it charge up you can either do small kicks, let it rise halfway and then do a giant spin-kick across the screen, or, if you let it charge to full, go into rage mode and suddenly become very strong for a short period of time. The only real problem with the game is that it gets tedious going through all the long levels. Super Double Dragon didn’t use Mode 7 like Castlevania IV, or an FX chip like Yoshi’s Island, which is disappointing, but the graphics are still clean overall. You’ll notice a major improvement over every past version including the arcade games.
Who is also known for his work on the Mega Man and Castlevania series. The music is catchy and upbeat, and it perfectly complements the fast-paced action of the game.
The first mission is beautifully lighted by the casinos and the neon signs. Mission 2 has great detail and inside the airport you can see the airplanes through the glass (though it would have cool if they landed and took off as you fought). Other missions have very colorful buildings and streets, with beautiful detail in the sculptures and atmospheric statues. There are fights in moving elevators, stairways, bridges and even on a moving truck, which, by the way, was originally designed to allow players and enemies to fall of the back, but was never properly implemented until Double Dragon Advance. Super Double Dragon suffers most from its unchallenging levels. They’re just too linear. Whereas the NES versions featured timed jumps on moving platforms, falling spikes to avoid, boulders chasing you down a cave and the occasional bottomless pit, Super Double Dragon doesn’t. Oh sure, there’s a hole in the bridge on Mission 6, which always costs me a life, but that’s about it. Long, mundane levels like Mission 2 can leave some players bored with the repetitive beatemup style and lack of a real challenge. I really feel that Technos could have come up with a more inspired level design

Konami went nuts with Castlevania IV creating spinning rooms, dynamic backgrounds and size-changing enemies. Technos should have at least tried something new rather than leaving us with levels that can’t even compare with the 8-bit NES games. This time around, Billy and Jimmy have been given different sprites that aren’t simply color-swapped, which is a nice touch. Billy has his blue suit and mid-length brown hair while Jimmy has his red suit and blonde flat top. They even have different punches. Billy uses a back fist and Jimmy uses a reverse punch.

There are no more complex button combinations for advanced moves, but instead the game introduces a special meter that can be charged with the shoulder buttons. When charging it just a little, you can unleash a strong backhanded blow or a roundhouse jump kick. With the meter more than half full, either attack button executes a flying spin kick across the screen (think Ryu and Ken’s Hurricane Kick in Street Fighter). Charging it to the max doesn’t activate a special move but makes the heroes stronger for a few seconds so they can knock down enemies with a single punch. Counter-Strike 1.6

HOW TO CHANGE THE LANGUAGE OF A ANY GAME
1. Check the in-game settings and see if you can change it there. If not, continue down below. You might have to try and use Google Translate to figure out the in-game menus.

2a. Look for an .ini file in the game folder or subfolders. Could be called something like steam_emu.ini, steamconfig.ini, etc., but check all the .ini files. There should be a line for language/nickname that you can edit in notepad. If not, look for a “language” or “account_name” text file that you can edit. (If not in the game folder, try C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ SteamEmu Saves\settings). Save and open the game again.
