STRIDE: Fates” for its exhilarating parkour movement. It is quite a blast to play in VR and it has a decently lengthy campaign. have been a fan of the first STRIDE game, love the mechanics and in STRIDE: Fates, it feels they took the mechanics, and added some polish to it. The game features open arena level design which offers a lot of freedom, making every leap and bound feel exciting.
In “STRIDE: Fates”, different from the original STRIDE, they did add a manual reloading option.
With this option enabled, you can grab a magazine from your belt line rather than just slamming your gun downward. However, there is some jank here. I would MUCH prefer if you could grab the magazine from your shoulder (Like in Half-Life Alyx) as grabbing towards your belt sometimes does not register. AND sometimes you will be grabbing the empty magazine that you freshly ejected if you are not careful. Some improvement can be done here. Mirror’s Edge (All DLCS)
Also, especially with the Shotgun, when you try to eject the magazine, it will sometimes just pop the ejected magazine back into the gun. This should not happen. Some fixing needs to be done here as well. While on the combat subject, let’s talk about 2-handed weapons. The game does have a shotgun and a machine gun… however, its sad to say how they implemented 2-handed guns feels like an after thought. Your off-hand has no influence on aiming, at all.
Identity Crisis Some of levels feel a bit out of place, almost as if they’re from another game, which can be a bit disorienting.
One example is later on in the game you are weilding a katana sword… it really feels like you are playing that other game they made, Red Flowers… just in STRIDE. Very odd to me. The game does suffer an identity crisis throughout the game, first you are playing STRIDE, then it turns into BONEWORKS, then back to STRIDE, then you feel like playing Red Flowers… Very odd… but I kind of like it. It adds variety at least! You can stick it to the foregrip of the gun Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
but its mainly for cosmetics. Bad bad BAD! Devs, please play any VR shooter (Contractors, Pavlov, Hot Dogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades) and you will know in 2 seconds of holding 2-handed guns how they should work. This NEEDS to be fixed! The overall style of the game is quite captivating and keeps me coming back for more. Despite these quirks, “STRIDE: Fates” is a fun and stylish game that’s worth playing for its parkour thrills alone. If you were a fan of the original STRIDE and are looking for the campaign.

HOW TO CHANGE THE LANGUAGE OF ANY GAME
1. Check the in-game settings and see if you can change it there. If not, continue down below. You might have to try and use Google Translate to figure out the in-game menus.
– Steam Games –
2a. Look for an .ini file in the game folder or subfolders. Could be called something like steam_emu.ini, steamconfig.ini, etc., but check all the .ini files. There should be a line for language/nickname that you can edit in notepad. If not, look for a “language” or “account_name” text file that you can edit. (If not in the game folder, try C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ SteamEmu Saves\settings). Save and open the game again.
– GOG Games –
2b. Same steps as Steam games except instead of .ini files, look for .info files
If these steps don’t work, then the files for the language you are looking for might not be included. We only check for English here.
